The average New York city resident leaves one third the environmental imprint of the average American because they don't drive cars and they're walking everywhere. The building, the proximity makes it easier to keep heat or air conditioning in the buildings so you don't lose very much to the outside air. So I think if everybody lived like I didn't, nobody would have to just do the thankless jobs. Everyone would rotate and do some of theThankless jobs as part of their overall routine.
