Gatsby GraphQL Data Layer
Gatsby has three or four official plug-ins, and we don't have a GraphQL data layer. The idea is that we build most of the most popular things that the community needs so that you don't really have to build these things. But in the end if you are a user, you can create integrations with your own code. It's not possible for us to provide an integration with everything, so the plug-in system,. it's used to fill the gaps and build your own niche things if you want.
