Re daniel chapiro is a science reporter. His stories are never so personal or so intimate as a radio diary. But still, when i talk to him over skipe, he told me his job is to figure out how to help the listener connect somehow emotionally to the scientific ideas he's exploring. That's tough. And then understanding th scientist as a character is a way for us to understand, through his passion for his work, something about why saving lions matters.
