The Earth Is Spherical

The idea that the earth is spherical would continue to be reinforced, right? We we'd continue to compensate for the spherical shape of the earth. And when they didn't come, it would serve as confirmation that what they believe is true. But keep in mind, this is entirely contingent upon them living in a different time when other evidence wasn't avail. You know, many people take issue with james because they think he's being far too tolerant of these ideas like ther you know, the earth is flat. What's going on?
