The Myth of Meritocracy
Only 8% are competent and proficient in 12th grade math. 66% do not possess even partial mastery of those basic skills. It is mathematically impossible to feed our meritocratic institutions to create 13% black representation with qualified candidates. The academic skills gap prevents that from happening.
