Margaret cavendish was the first woman to write extensively about scientific subjects in english. She did not like the royal society of london and the new experimentalism that they were practising. Margaret cavendish took these creatures, particularly lice, and in a parody of the royal society called the new blazing world, she converted lice into lice men. And so she both attacked them in treatises and in parody.
