How to Take a Census of Parts of Speech

In the first part of your book you discuss some of the more familiar effects that, for example, the use of french terms or latin or greek terms in english conveys a particular style and attitude. You then advance to something very much more subtle, talking about categories of word choice where you raise the notion of taking a census of parts of speech. What i wanted to point out to people is that when you look at the language of something, you probably are coming to it with some kind of a agenda, so that you only notice certain things.
