The Role of Deposit Outflows in the Second Quarter
The White House said they are going to call for new rules from the Federal Reserve and other banking regulators. They're proposing tougher capital liquidity requirements, as well as steps to strengthen stress tests on banks. Silicon Valley Bank might have been an outlier based on their profile of managing risk in a way that wasn't aligned with reality. But I think all these other banks could be caught up in this whirlwind of just the flushing out of deposits. That's not bad management. And piling on at this moment is favorable to anybody.
