Is There a Blanket Carbon Tax?
I think the most important thing that needs to proceed is an acceptance that the free market can't solve market failures. Essentially you need all governments around the world to have a blanket carbon tax. And i do believe unless the americans step up and take a meaningful role an leading on climate change, i think it's very difficult get the kind of block of developed countries to eno come to the table and agree to something. You cannot rely on black rock itself, or any financial services institution to self regulate or do the right thing on their own. They're moving us in a direction that looks a bit like the financial crisis where they're locked into short term profits.
