The Effects of Sting on Sting Signals

Researchers looked at the sequence of sting, the sting protein from 30 bat species. They compared it to 10 other mammalian bat sting sequences. There was a searing in all of these organisms that is important for phosphorylation. But when they looked at the 30 bats, none of them had a series at this location. It makes us hypothesize that the bats sting signals a bit less than do some of these other sting proteins from humans.
