He was a little unprepared in for te scrutiny of a presidential campaign, both from the media and from his fellow democrats. He did not have to sharpen his identity as a democrat because het had a republican to run against. And so he could just be like, i'm really not that guy over there. But he didn't have to get into the finer points of the debate. A lot of texas political reporters, they've looked at betto's presidential campaign, and in respect, have seen it as a tactical error.
