The Romans and the Britons in the Battle of the River
The britons were unimpressed, lounging about in their camp. As the legions lined up, plautius had his german auxiliaries sneak off on the flank. And once they were out of sight of the britons, they swam across the river. The ensuing chaos provided enough distraction for vespasian to lead the second legion across the river and open up a second line of attack against britons.
