The Arguments Against the Value Free Ideal

There are two types of arguments against the value free ideal. One is that scientists should have different standards of evidence for facts that you think will promote a good outcome, versus ones that could lead to bad effects. The other argument is that we're never 100% sure that a hypothesis has been supported or that a claim has been supported. And so there's some sort of value ment that comes into deciding, ok, well, this is enough evidence that we can move forward and operate.
