Hubble - A Brief History of the Hubble Project
The project was not really widely grasped until the 19 eighties. James Webb had to convince nassa, they hadn't built mo,. that they'd been building a few smaller scale, 36 inch or so space telescopes. One of the key things for hubble was to have a very interested nassa centre for whom building hubble was really a central commitment. The arshall space flight center were looking for business in the 19 seventies because apollo had wound down.
