The Purpose of the Enterprise Not Necessary of Higher Development
I personally don't believe you can understand religion without understanding two things. One is states of consciousness, and the other is developmental stages. There there's religion for every developmental stage. And i would want to simplify and say that one of the major divisions is between conventional religion and contemplative religion. The culture is shifting from a monophasic to a polyphasic culture. Polyphasic cultures draw their understanding of human an reality from multiple states,. dream, yoga, meditative, contemplative, transe etcetera, etcetera... We're experiencing that kind of transition right now with the advent of the sixties.
