The Importance of Durability in Cycling

The power data is what I think is allowed quantification. Because you can quantify it, there's like new questions. And one of those questions is what determines durability. To be in the top 10% in the professional peloton, you need to produce about 14 watts per kilogram for 10 seconds. For five minutes, it's six and a half watts a kilo. 60 minutes is 4.7 watts. That's the 90th percentile. This is being shelled off at first climb on Wednesday. It's just huge numbers. So why do some people have durability that others don't? No doubt that training load must be one of the factors.
