The Fifth Circuit Court Stacked With Far Right Judges
The fifth circuit court has been fairly stingy about granting qualified immunity, even after the supreme court rebuked it in 20 15 for second guessing the police. Part of the answer may lie in its increasingly libertarian composition. One trump appointed judge don willett is a hero of the libertarian a movement and an outspoken critic of qualified immunity. But then there's also this strain of intellectually consistent libertarians who say, well, we don't like state power.
