The Bicarbonate Carbon Dioxide System Is the Dominant Buffer in the Body

The action of buffers like acting sort of like a sponge for extra hydrogen ions right like they pick up all these hydrogen ions turn them into something that is no longer an acid. If we didn't have a buffer system we'd be dead in about five minutes I think really like the idea of buffers that they maintain a pH around the pKa or in the case of carbonic acid which will get to around 7.4 because long with and kidneys and carbonic acid are a special combo but that they work to swap up extra hydrogen ions  to maintain pH in a really narrow range yeah.
