How to Treat Acute Pseudo-Gout

The most common way that we treat acute pseudo-gout is with steroids. The starting dose is going to vary from clinician to clinician. I personally tend to start with a fairly low dose of prednisone, something like 10 milligrams for five days. If they're not improving in two days, I ask them to call me. And then we can increase the dose a little bit.
