Think of discrimination as a kind of tax, right? Which it is. And then you have multiple taxes from different directions, and they interact like the tolls on the river. Maybe intersectionality makes a lot of sense. But the problem is whether these are multiplicative or less than that. There really is some issue having to do with functional form.
