The Iraq War
You were in government during the early days of the Iraq War. A lot of people point to Iraq as kind of the major sin in this period. It was what led to our overinvestment in the Middle East, you say. You hear some of the skeptics of the US position on Ukraine still citing Iraq back to us and explaining why they see our reaction as hypocritical. How much of this is really just the Iraq War? I think that's an overstatement. One could be and should be properly critical of the Iraq war, but I don't think the Iraq War in any way justifies the flaws in American foreign policy towards the former Soviet Union in Russia, towards China.
