Rational numbers are the ratio of one whole number didvided by another, like a half and a tenth and 315 millions. Pie is really out there, because it's transcendental. We can't write down an equation involving pie and whole numbers that gives you zero. The square ridge of two, for example, is irrational. So how do we know that pi never has single digit mass? It was one of alexandrias' questions: 'How do we prove this?' And the answer is that we have to prove it with mathematical proof.
