In 1959's Cat Among the Pigeons, Christie's dedication reads, For Stella and Larry Kerwan. This married couple is an interesting overlap because Larry Kerwan is an archaeological friend. And Stella Kerwan is actually a writing-related acquaintance. She visited them often at their country estate, especially when she needed to get out of London during the Second World War. So that's how she came to model the pool that features so prominently in the hollow on their pool at theircountry estate.
