The Effects of Anxiety on the Brain
Scientists from the University of Tventa in the Netherlands used a wired headset to measure brain activity while people were shooting penalties. They found out that when we're anxious, our brain activates less task relevant areas and more irrelevant areas. This is one of those horrible situations where worrying about missing might make you less coordinated and therefore more likely to miss. That's awful. God for it's ever taken a penalty kick?
