In America, parental leave is seen as mostly punishing women. Having kids has a huge effect on women's earnings and employment but basically no effect on men’s earnings and employment. The way in which the labor market favors men is really just what it does. It favors, it disfavors parents. And justice that needs to be addressed is the thing keeping it even.
