You can't swap those back ends without changing a config file and then rebuilding a release, or changing your code and recompiling it. The being able to swap that stuff is a compile time decision for too many people. I shouldn't help to architect my services based on the suite of arbitrary stuff i just happen to have lying around on my work station.
