How Did You Get Your Head Around the Old Testament?

In the early nineties when i went to college, i ah, had no interest whatever in the bible. The things that i had heard kind of bothered me. And then, even in my phd Study and beyond, this question has remained at the forefront becausei have felt like i wanted to solve it. So i'll talk about this a little bit autobiographically.
