With Bruegada syndrome, a drug challenge can be administered that can effectively bring out the pattern seen. This can be used in cases where the diagnosis is not characteristically noted in EKG or the diagnosis is potentially questionable. The most classically used drug challenge is with prokinemite, which is a Type 1 sodium channel blocker, antiarithmic.
