The Effects of Amputation on Pain and Legs

People complain of pain and limb for perhaps two to three years after an amputation. The pain will then cease. This is because a disease remains in the still undattached etheric limb, but as the amputated part disintegrates, the etheric limb follows suit. So he's basically saying that if they chop your arm off and you had like pain in your arm, it's going to take as long as that arm takes to decay and just wither away and get eaten by worms for your ghost limb to go away. And later on in the book, he actually advocates for cremation and not burying your dead because of this process.
