Irenaeus's Against Heresies

Irenaeus was seen to be gearing his polemic against in his against heresies. There's largely Gnosticism around him at the time, right? He goes through this sort of a Gnostic cosmogony where he describes where from the Scriptures they get the idea for all of their deities. In that notion of multiple Christianity's is you know, Irenaeus confronts those who in the early church are contradicting what Irenaeus calls the rule of truth or the rule of faith.
