The Limits of Machine Learning

The machines ability to train themselves that they don't know what they're studying and it goes through the neural net. It literally doesn't understand the question, but it can get better and better at answering it. And there is something childlike about that, its ability to learn things when it doesn't know what it's learning. But most of what children do, these machines are not doing. The metaphor I've been using lately, by the way, is that current systems are kind of like teenagers,. They suddenly have a lot of power and they don't have the prefrontal cortex to really control what they're doing with that power.
