What Is It With This, This Demonstration of Impunity?
Torture was a symbolic act aiming to expand the zone where power operates without rights. It's not thought through in a by partisan way, even though there's a by partisan spirit to continually ramp up american military capacity. There isn't an enemy that we all agree on any more. The proliferation of enemies in the world corresponds to a kind of sense that we are more intensely enemies of each other inside the united country.
