The Water Horse and the Death of a Child
The water horse targets cute children by pretending to be tame and gentle. The creature then speeds them to their doom, sometimes taking on the form of a man or woman who shapeshift into a horse when it comes time to eat the victim alive. When one folk tale featuring the water horse, one of the children actually cuts off all of his fingers in a bid to escape. He then watches as all of his friends are carried off into the water, which of course makes him the one who survives to tell the tale.
