The second generation of the zoom launched in 2007. It was also the year that Apple launched a pair of devices that ensured it would continue to dominate the mobile space. At midnight, Pacific Standard Time on December 31st, 2008, as the West Coast of the United States prepared to ring in the new year, zoom 30s stopped working.
