The Effects of Trans Fat on Blood Lipids

Trans fat is the only type of fat that raises LDL and reduces HDL in the blood but it also increases inflammatory factors. Unsaturated fats actually being beneficial compared to carbohydrate intake with polyunsaturated fat being strongly beneficial. The biggest single reason for the decline in heart disease in this country was about doubling of polyuns saturated fat in the diet from the 1960s.
