The Role of Russia and China in Africa

It is about multipolarity, and absolutely Russia is looking at where it can be opportunistic. It's certainly given France a run for its money in the Central African Republic. That's been something that France was ill-prepared for. And of course, Wagner is also, as you've mentioned in Mali, and it's trying to get into a Burkina Faso too. The Russians are looking opportunistically at where they can find entry points. The Chinese are a lot more strategic.
