The anti-clock of Notre Dame had vanished in the 15-hour blaze that consumed the rafters. For weeks, Olivier and his fellow clocksmiths searched for blueprints. One day, one of Olivier's colleagues went to another medieval church in Paris. He stumbled on an antique clock made by the same clocksmith in the same year. The twin clock gave experts all the parts they needed to reconstruct a working clock.
