The Headship of the Man
The wise wife is described as the greatest source of her husband's honour and standing. Her excellence equips her husband to exercise rule and enjoy social standing within his community. Without such a wise wife, a man is robbed of his greatest counsellor. There are few things more debilitating, it makes clear, than a wife who brings shame.
