The Second Law of Thermal Dynamics and Heat Death
Deutsch essentially defines evil as anything that causes human suffering or reduces our possibility to flourish. It might be helpful here to make a distinction between the second law of thermal dynamics and heat death. In his theory, he has something which his basic argument is that if you think of the universe as a box, then you would get something like a heat death just because the box is thermalizing. But the universe isn't a box, it's an open system; this changes the whole setting.
