Reward Systems in the Animal Kingdom

The reward circuit is activated both in approach and avoidance situations. But it's just not the same pattern of activation as with highly rewarding events. So stress is very different than reward, yes? Some of the reward responses that we have are evolved,. Yes, sure. For like good examples, food, ah, being in the right temperature, for example, being free of pain, sex, caring for offspring. These things are often rewarding without having to be learned. And this is why we call them primary rewards, as opposed to secondary rewards that are learned.
