The Drevlians Were the Only Hope, and the Messenger Was Right.
The message grated on olga, but she couldn't ignore it or the truths within. She fully grasped the gravity of her situation and realized that the drevlians were her only hope. If you hope to rule over the people, to show them your superiority, you have to demand their service. It was a lesson my father in law knew innately, and when it took my husband many years to learn, olga said she accepted mal's marriage proposal. The messenger bowed before his queen and the future wife of his leader, saying that he would see her to morrow.
