Amphitrion is going to go through his 12 labors here. If you're not familiar with the labors of Hercules, it's good to familiarize yourself with them. He calmly seized a serpent in each hand and pulled their thrashing bodies from the floor. Such was his early practice for the Hydra. Famous story of the baby Hercules killing the serpents sent to kill him by Juno.
