The Russians Are Ready to Fight an Insurgency

The Chechen war is classic. Russians come in unprepared, with a big force, am arrogant, thinking it's going to be easy. An unexpected slaughter happens. They retreat, come back and start mass killing, burning, raising, plundering. And have a completely different plan. This is when they start setting up the filtration camps. It's not that russians are genetically the most evil counter insurgency. All counter insurgencies are brutal and vicious.
