Is Colin Farrell's Character in the Movie?
I don't think the movie ever really acknowledges the fact that Brendan Gleason's character is likely 20 years older than Colin Farrell's. Because they're on this small island, it's like you have to just make your intentions clear or else. I found the moment where the finger actually is cut off to be extremely shocking. And we're really talking about something real and Brendan Gleeson's character has some serious issues.
