What's the Good News on the Inflation Front?
Jay Parini: After more than a year of inflation surprising us to the upside, we're finally seeing some good news on the inflation front. The biggest piece of good news was the July CPI report, where both headline and core CPI inflation cooled more than expected last month. He says there are reasons to be optimistic that goods disinflation will continue.Parini: But this is just the early stages of what it will take to get inflation back to levels that that is comfortable with.
