In med school, chances are you're not in anything higher than the 15% bracket. So I think that's perfectly fine to sell taxable assets and use it to reduce your medical school debt. But for the most part, I don't think there's necessarily a wrong thing to do. Leaving it invested, particularly in a retirement account is a good thing.
