The Proliferation of Victimless Crimes
The attorney general recently appeared in the news lamenting the fact that people don't respect police officers enough. I blame here far less the police than I do Congress on this count of putting police in a situation where in effect they're telling them that they are a military unit and the enemy is the citizenry. And it's important to underline here because we get lots of blowback from listeners. This is not us saying that the police are bad. This is us saying that we Americans have set up a system of incentives that lead to very bad results.
