The Importance of Synodality

Gusta Del Noche, a 20th century Italian philosopher political theorist drew a distinction between authority and mere power. He thinks real authority is rooted in a keen sense of objective value. And those objective values are finally related to the supreme value of God. So authority has a link to a transcendent set of values. Whatever power it exercises is in service of this kind of moral and spiritual purpose.
