The Sermon on the Mount has the so-called hard sayings, right? Resist not evil. If your neighbor strikes you on your right cheek, turn the other cheek. Isn't that pacifism? The many Christians have come to that conclusion. So if you look at the Old Testament, well, the Israelites do engage in war, both defensive and offensive war.
