Can the Market Really Break Out With Any Degree of Strength Above 4000?

Can the market really break out with any degree of strength above 4000 if you're not going to get participation from the mega caps? They're just too statistically important overall to the indexes themselves. So that's why there is some calmness in the market. I don't think the VIX has been a reliable indicator to markets for a long, long time. And once again, this is what I have to see. Earnings expectations reset more towards where I'm at, which is 200 for next year.
